Chase Digital Wallet, Chase Pay is back into their Chase Freedom 5X category for the Q4 2018 for up to $1500.  If you are not familiar with Chase Pay yet, Chase Pay uses tokenization technology, which substitutes credit card information with algorithmically generated numbers, called a token. You can enjoy shopping, without passing credit card information to merchants when you shop online or with the app. First and foremost, don’t forget to activate Chase Freedom Q1 2019 categories. The new Q1 2019 5% categories for Chase Freedom will be:

  • Gas Stations (Normally it includes Wholesale Gas purchase as well)
  • Drug Stores (Some stores sell gift cards like amazon, department store, restaurant gc etc)
  • Tolls

Here are some of the great ways to maximize using Chase Pay

1. Maximize Chase Pay at Walmart

Combine your Walmart online purchase with Shop Through Chase portal. Currently, Chase is offering additional 2X points for purchase at Walmart. This adds up to the Chase Freedom Q4 2018 5X Chase Pay category, giving you a net 7x points.

Visit the shop through Chase portal under ultimate rewards section, select the store Walmart. You can see 2X or 2% extra cash back. These bonus rewards keep changing, if lucky during the holiday there could be more extra cash back.

Ebates ($10 as Referral) also has some great cashback offers, elevated cashback right now for holidays.

2. Chase Pay at Shell Gas Stations

Chase Pay users can pay for Shell Gas using the Chase Pay app, you just need to choose the pump you are going to fill up and directly pay from the app. No need to swipe your Fuel Rewards card or your Chase Credit Card.

How to Use the Chase Pay app at the pump.

If you have not linked Shell FR with Chase Pay app, you can still do so and get 34cents per gallon.  You will also get automatic Gold member status when you link your FR rewards into the Chase Pay app, this means 5 cents off per gallon everytime you pump at Shell.

This feature may not be available in all Shell Gas stations.

3. Chase Pay at BestBuy

ChasePay is accepted at BestBuy stores, a good option to buy electronics at BestBuy for the holidays starting Oct 1st, 2018 – Dec 31st, 2018. If Chase offers an additional bonus like the previous year, would be a good bonus.

It’s also the right time if you plan to get the new iPhones or the Apple Watch and maximize 5x on their purchase. Unfortunately, ChasePay is not accepted via BestBuy.com

 

4. Chase Pay promotions

Chase Pay does offer promotions from time to time. If you have not used Chase Pay so far, download the app and get $5 or $10 off if you have registered before June 2018, for first purchase on Food order. You will see that option when you go to the Order section after selecting a restaurant that’s near you. Don’t miss out that deal.
