Hotel Loyalty Programs are sometimes overlooked when planning for a big vacation, often frequent flier miles and flight redemptions are the primary factor for many people, especially those new to award hacking. We’re suggesting in this post that Hotel Redemptions are very lucrative and often are an incredibly good redemptions value.

We’re comparing in this post Hotel Redemptions, availability, value and options of those three Chase Hotel Loyalty credit cards at one very popular city, popular vacation spot, and another one in a smaller city with less demand. All the searches were made for a specific 3-night stay in August 2019.

Hyatt

Hyatt’s Availability and Redemption are a huge thumbs up. Though the options might be less in smaller cities, the redemption value reduces considerably, with many options starting from 5,000 points per night.

Marriott

Marriott properties, availability, and options are a huge thumbs up. The redemption rate is fairly low, but the higher category properties make points redemption more desirable for this brand.

IHG

Although options are available in cities, there are not many options when it comes to vacation spots. Their redemption rates are way below 0.5 cents per point at most properties. Availability is somewhat better only when you book well in advance.
